Siamese Asset's Construction Policy Focused on Waste Reduction: 3R Reduce – Reuse - Recycle

Siamese Asset has a policy to reduce construction waste, with guidelines applied from the project planning stage through to the construction stage. Today, the expansion of construction work to develop infrastructure, office buildings and residences is increasing, resulting in a growing volume of construction material waste. A study by Chen & Wong (2002) found that construction material waste accounts for approximately 30-40 percent of landfill space in cities around the world, and that the construction waste generated by each project averages 10 – 30 percent of the total materials used in the construction project. In Bangkok, an average of approximately 300 tonnes of construction debris is illegally dumped each day, accounting for 0.5 percent of all waste (Pollution Control Department, 2010).
