Siamese Asset and RITTA Join Forces with the Faculty of Engineering Chulalongkorn University,
Launching the 'Zero Construction Wastes and Upcycling Products' Project,
Aiming to Reduce Construction Waste and Create Eco-Friendly Products.

Siamese Asset Public Company Limited and RITTA Company Limited, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, have announced a partnership in the "Zero Construction Wastes and Upcycling Products" project, aiming to reduce construction waste and transform residual materials into value-added, environmentally friendly products.
This project aims to study and develop a comprehensive construction waste management process, starting from data collection and material composition analysis to the development of innovative processes for transforming waste materials into new products. In the preliminary stage, the focus will be on studying:
Ready-mix concrete wash water: Collecting wash water samples from ready-mix trucks to analyze their chemical composition.
Bored pile heads: Studying pile head length data, concrete strength, and conducting compression tests to calculate residual material quantities.
Subsequently, in the implementation stage, residual materials will be used for experimental processing, including:
- Crushed pile stones and sand to replace natural materials.
- Ready-mix concrete wash water.
- Sodium Silicates solutions.
Additionally, the project covers the initiation of four key initiatives:
- Reuse Water: Developing a wastewater treatment system from construction processes to recycle water, reducing fresh water usage and minimizing impacts on natural water sources.
- Food Waste: Managing food waste from worker camps and construction sites by converting it into compost or alternative energy.
- Lightweight Concrete: Researching and developing lightweight concrete production from recycled materials, reducing natural material usage and lowering building structural weight.
- Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Carbon Footprint: Evaluating the carbon footprint impact throughout the product or service lifecycle, from production, material usage, transportation, and usage to disposal or recycling, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

A small group Kick-Off activity to commence the project will be held on March 20, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Environmental Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, with experts from all three organizations participating in discussions and planning.
Mrs. Sunanta Singsansern, Chief Operating Officer of Siamese Asset Public Company Limited, stated, "The company emphasizes sustainable business operations and is delighted to collaborate with RITTA Company and the Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, on this project. We believe this collaboration will lead to positive changes in the construction industry."

Mr. Suwat Rakchua Co-Chief Operating Officer and Mr. Phetshrat Phetdee, General Manager, executives from RITTA Company Limited, said, "The company is committed to reducing the environmental impact of construction, and this project is an excellent opportunity to utilize our expertise for maximum benefit."
"This project is a significant collaboration between the academic and industrial sectors to jointly address construction waste issues sustainably," and "We aim to create knowledge and innovations that benefit the construction industry and society as a whole." said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jenyuk Lohwacharin, Head of the Department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering.
The "Zero Construction Wastes and Upcycling Products" project is another commitment from all three organizations to jointly create a sustainable future for the construction industry and Thai society.
